Benjamin Walkley is a 2007 C/OF from Trumbull in Trumbull, CT, with a 5'8'', 165 lb. frame. He has some present upper body strength and strong arms and hands. Walkley stays low and compact on defense and shows solid arm strength and a quick release. His best pop time was 2.00 and he had little wasted motion. He moves well from side to side and has some body life. Walkley ran the 60 in 7.24, pretty good for a catcher. Walkley hits out of a wide stance at the plate with a leg lift trigger and deep pre-loaded hands. He is rotational with his upper half and doesn't get much from his lower body and back side. Walkley creates some bat speed due to his strength and shows some pop to right centerfield. He's primarily an opposite field hitter who will pull the ball more when he gets more from his lower half. Walkley also pitched a bit and showed a 77 mph fastball from a high 3/4's release point and a compact arm action. He is an excellent student off the field.

Benjamin Walkley is a 2007 catcher/outfielder from Trumbull HS in Trumbull, Connecticut, with a solid, athletic 5'8"/165 pound body. Benjamin was named to the Top Prospect Team. He makes smooth and accurate throws from behind the plate with a great release. He has smooth actions as a catcher with good feet. Walkley is a right handed hitter that hits from an upright stance. He Has very good bat speed and is a physically strong player with good power potential. Walkley is a very good student.

Defensively he has good feet behind the plate with a good release and good carry on his 71 mph throws and 2.18 pop time. Offensively he is a right handed hitter who is loose at the plate with minimal movement and starts his hands low. He showed some good pop with the bat as he had 2 hits in the game, including a double that was 82 mph off the bat. He showed solid speed as well with a 7.33-60 yard time. Benjamin is also a very good student.
