Jesse Moore is a 2008 right hand hitting middle infielder/right handed pitcher from Mission Bay HS, residing in San Diego, CA. Moore has a 5'11" 155 lb. frame and a lean, lithe, athletic build. He has some liveliness and wiry strength that will continue to develop as he physically matures. Moore hits from an open stance and shows good feel with the bat. He is aggressive with his hands, both to the ball and through contactd. He is not big but does possess some power, particularly on pitches that are in his zone. He is a selective hitter and has the ability to drive the ball to all fields. His bat speed is good and as he continues to get stronger, Moore could develop into a three hole type hitter at the college level. Defensively he has above average raw arm strength and good hands. He is a capable defender at any infield position. On the mound Moore has a short arm action and good arm speed. His has some rhythm and an athletic delivery, allowing him to repeat it pretty easily. His fastball topped at 84 mph and is pretty sneaky, particularly with that short arm stroke. His curveball is his best pitch, with hard rolling action and resulting depth. He has good control of all his pitches and attacks the zone. His two pitch mix and approach could be well-suited to a relief role at the collegiate level. Moore's raw tools rate well for a young, still physically developing player.

Jesse Moore is a 2008 MIF/P from Mission Bay HS, residing in San Diego, CA, with a 5'10" 155 lb. frame. Moore was named to the top prospect team at the California Underclass Showcase, was written up in the Top Prospect list, and in the future will be invited to the National Showcase. He has a wiry-strong and athletic build, a good baseball body. A right handed hitter, Moore hits from a square stance. He has an aggressive hitting nature and his swing has life. Moore's hand path is very good and uniquely disciplined for a such a young player. His extension through the ball is good and the ball gets off his bat well. Moore's hands work well in his swing, allowing that ability to stay long in the zone and through the ball. He is a spray hitter who stays in the middle of the field but has present day gap power. He starts with his hands held high, allowing them to stay from from his body. Moore should hit for high average with lots of doubles. At shortstop Moore showed a quick release and the ball tracked well across diamond. He has good body control due to feet that work well. His hands are good his fundamental set-up to ball is solid. In all, Moore has strong defensive abilities and can play any of the infield positions. His footspeed will likely determine his future infield position. On the mound Moore is very competitive, both in his nature and with his stuff. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot with a loose arm and a long arm action. He has good arm speed and gets to extension. His 82-84 mph FB had some life down in the zone and got to the down/away spot well on the opposite armside. Moore showed a 68-70 mph CB with 11/5 shape, with tight spin and a quick change of direction. He overthrew the CB at times but naturally it is good out of his hand. He showed a 71 mph CH and the ability to pitch with his FB. Moore is a top '08 follow and should be on the follow list of major D1 programs, primarily as a position player. That bat is going to play well at the college level.
