Michael Lessig is a 6'2" 180 pound 2006 shortstop and right handed pitcher from Fountain Hills High School in Fountain Hills, Arizona. He threw 76 mph in the field and ran a 7.29 60. Michael shows the ability to hit in the heart of the line-up and produce some runs with his bat speed and ability to use the whole field when he wants to. He stands tall in the box with good bat speed and pitch recognition. Lessig has a projectable loose swing with minimal effort and more strength to come. He is a potential offensive player that can play the middle infield position. On the mound, he touched 82 mph with ease and showed a 74 mph change up with good feel for the strike zone. He is a a definite Division 1 player who has very good grades.

Lessiq is a 6-2, 180 lb shortstop from Arizona who also has some ability as a right handed pitcher. He has a tall lanky body with projectable strength gains in the future. Lessiq ran the 60 in 7.68 and threw 78 mph during infield drills with good carry. His infield actions are smooth and polished and he makes the routine play well. Lessiq has a power hitter's approach at the plate, with a long, extended swing that has lots of lift to it. More strength will definitely help with this approach. Lessiq also shows some arm strength as a pitcher, touching 82 mph with good running action into right handers. Lessiq tipped his change up a bit but got very nice sinking action on the pitch between 67 and 71 mph. He didn’t throw a breaking ball. Lessiq is a very good student.

Michael Lessig is a 2006 shortstop/right handed pitcher from Fountain Hills, AZ, with an athletic body showing good core strength at 6-2, 180 lbs. Defensively, he shows good hands and playable actions. He shows decent arm strength across the infield at 74 mph. He had one of the best and most consistent swings at the event. He hits from a spread square stance and his swing had a slightly lofted plane. He uses a deep load and a front knee trigger. His swing shows very good bat speed and power to his pull side. The ball made a different sound coming off his bat in batting practice as he squared up the barrel and made consistent hard contact. He pitches from a ¾ arm slot with a long deliberate delivery that shows little effort. His fastball was pretty straight at 82 mph. He also shows good feel for his change at 68 mph. He has a projectable body and he is a definite follow for 2006. Michael is a very good student.
