Ariel Vidal-Ray is a 2006 right handed pitcher from South Miami, Florida with a tall lean build at 6'0", 165 pounds. He pitches from a high 3/4 slot with a long arm action. He has good overall mechanics, but he falls off towards 1st base on his finish. His fastball showed slight armside run at 79 mph. His curveball topped put at 68 mph and showed good depth with an 11-5 break. His change had a sinking action at 69 mph. His curveball was his best pitch, and was very sharp when he was on top of it. He mixed in and out nicely, and he was around the plate all day. He is a polished pitcher that will be very effective at the next level with more velocity. Ariel is a good student.
