Blake Helton is a 2015 SS/2B with a 5-10 160 lb. frame from Newnan, GA who attends Northgate. Medium, athletic frame with a lean, projectable build and room to fill out with addd strength. Ran a 7.14 60-yard dash. Primary shortstop, fields the ball well out front, quick actions and shows range up the middle, moves well on feet with hands that play, effort at release on throws but shows big strength across. Right-handed hitter, shows a sound approach at the plate with solid pitch recognition in the box. Generates nice bat speed in swing with loose hands, longer load with a short path to the ball, creates leverage in swing with nice line drive contact when squared off the barrel. Named to Southeast Top Prospect List. Good student.
