K. Ryan Harvey is a 2007 C with a 6'3'', 190 lb. frame from Gainesville FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has a tall, angular athletic build with good present strength. Harvey ran the 60 in 7.73 and threw a strong 78 mph during drills with a best pop time of 2.00. Harvey is a hard worker behind the plate and a willing blocker and hustler. He also played some third base and while his range was limited, he showed good hands and a very strong arm. Offensively, Harvey hits from a tall, open stance with a rock back load. His game swings were much better than his batting practice swings, where he was trying to hard to lift the ball and got long. During games, Harvey was able to consistently stay short to the ball and drove anything on the inside half hard to the left side of the field. He just missed hitting one ball out and showed good overall hitting ability and potential. Harvey's overall skills are still developing, especially on defense, but he's projectable and has good upside. Harvey is a very good student.

K. Ryan Harvey is a 2007 C/P with a 6'3'', 185 lb. frame from Gainesville FL, who attends Oak Hall HS. He has a good athletic body with projectable strength and good overall body life. Harvey uses his quickness well behind the plate. He shifts well and receives the ball easily. Harvey's arm strength is very good at 77 mph and his throws have on-line carry to the bag. He tends to stand up straight to throw, which slows down his release, but he still had a best top time of 1.94. Offensively, Harvey, hits from an open stance with his weight back and low hands to start. He tends to get his swing started late but generates whippy bat speed and the ball jumps well on contact. He showed some lift in his swing and developing power potential. There are plenty of things that Harvey can do on both sides of the ball to improve fundamentally and he has the athletic ability to really keep improving. He's an interesting project at a premium position. Harvey is also an excellent student.

Harvey is a 6-2, 185 lb junior catcher from Florida with a slender build. He is a hustling type catcher who showed leadership skills at the showcase. Harvey has a quick release on his throws and a best pop time of 2.05. The pop time will improve as he continues to develop his arm strength. At the plate, Harvey is a patient hitter who showed some gap to gap power. He has a good, balanced stride into the ball and hit the ball best to right centerfield. More strength will help him as a hitter. Harvey also pitched at the showcase and threw up to 76 mph with his fastball and got some sink and cutting action on occasion. He's a good student off the field.
