Alex Hess is a 2014 RHP with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Marietta, GA who attends Lassiter HS. Big athletic build, lots of room to get stronger. Long extended arm action, high 3/4's to over the top release, tends to fall off to the first base side on release, still developing consistency from the stretch. Upper 70's fastball, topped out at 80 mph, mostly straight with good downhill angle. Curveball best pitch, big 12/6 downer shape at times, commands curveball well and will throw it with confidence at any point in the count. Works quickly and throws strikes, especially from the wind up. Good student.
