Bobby Armstrong is a 6'1" 180 pound 2007 outfielder from West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a lean athletic build with good strength. Bobby showed good speed by running a 6.94 60 during the workout and a 4.53 down the line in the game. He has ann excellent arm which he showed by throwing 85 mph from the outfield. His throws were very accurate with good carry. Armstrong is a very aggressive hitter who hits with a wide stance and has good balance. He has very good bat speed and has projectable power. He hits to all parts of the field but can really drive the ball to both gaps. Bobby has really matured physically over the last couples of years and he really enjoys the game. He is a top level hitter who continues to open eyes.

Armstrong is a 5-10 sophomore outfielder from Texas. We’ve seen him play many times before and he keeps on getting better. Armstrong has a very live athletic body with deceptive strength for his size. He ran 7.22 in the 60 and is a very good baserunner with very good instincts for his age. Armstrong threw 82 mph from the outfield with excellent carry and accuracy. He showed his arm strength in the games as well from centerfield. Armstrong’s best tools are with the bat, though. He has a sound fundamental swing with very good bat speed. The ball jumps off his bat and he has a lot more power than you think he would looking at him, especially to the middle of the field and over to right field. Each time we see him play he looks like a more confident hitter. Good Follow!

Bobby Armstrong is a 2007 outfielder from Beaumont, Texas, who showed us very good potential with the bat. He hits from a slightly closed stance with high hands and elbow. It’s very unusual for a player Armstrong’s age to be able to top spin the ball hard, but Armstrong has the hand strength and raw bat speed, combined with his high hands, to do this. In fact, Armstrong’s batting practice round was among the top couple at the event. He drove the ball hard to both alleys with nice extension in his swing. During the games, Armstrong showed the same alley to alley approach, and did a good job waiting back on one curveball and driving it up the RCF alley for a double. Armstrong’s defensive tools looked very playable as well. He showed nice arm strength for a junior and ran well, too. Armstrong has a nice balance of baseball tools that should keep improving as he matures.
