Bob Morey is a 2007 C/P/1B from Alexander High School in Douglasville, GA, with a 6'3'', 220 lb. frame. Named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a very nice build and an extra large frame. Defensively he has good arm strength on his throws to second base, and he produced pop times consistently under 2.00. Morey sets up high behind the plate making him late on some low pitches. At the plate he is a right handed hitter with a simple and balanced approach. He hits from an upright stance with a quiet approach in the box. There is a slight lift in his swing and he looks to drive the ball on every pitch. Morey has good very good bat speed and the ball jumps off his bat at contact. Morey has the chance to hit with big time power in the future. Morey also pitched at the event and had a fastball that topped out at 83 mph with good tailing action away from right handed hitter. He has projectable velocity. Morey has a strong bat that should be a run producer at the next level.
