Ulbrich is a 5-10, 170 lb infielder from Connecticut with some good upper body strength. He ran the 60 in 7.48 on the slow track and threw 77 mph from the infield in workouts. Ulbrich also worked out in the outfield and threw 78 but looked more comfortable approaching the ball as an infielder and lists that as his primary position. He fields the ball cleanly on all routine plays. As a hitter Ulbrich hits out of a very wide stance with little trigger to get his swing started. He has the strength to generate some good bat speed. He is a good student.
