2005 Sunshine West Showcase
Wayne Larcom is a 2006 middle infielder from Mira Costa HS in Redondo Beach, CA, with a 5'11", 175 lb. frame. Larcom ran a good sixty (7.11) on a slow track, and showed his speed and quickness running a 4.40 home to first from the right side. Every time he had a chance to run, he ran hard. Defensively, he has solid arm strength (78IF) with an accurate throwing arm. Larcom has solid footwork and hands that will allow him to play any infield position, but we think he could be a very good third baseman. At the plate he hits right handed with an open and upright stance. He shows solid bat speed with a line drive swing path and centers the ball well. Larcom stays balanced throughout his swing with some strength, and has the ability to stay inside the ball. He is also a good student.
