RHP Vince Egyed (Burleson, TX): Egyed has been a regular at Perfect Game events and shown good pitching knowledge and savvy. He was 78-80 mph at the Showcase with a 71 mph curveball and 74 mph change up. We've seen him better in the past. He is also a good all-round player and a good student who could really develop in college.

Vince Egyed is a slender and athletic looking 2005 right hander from Texas, with a 6'1", 185 lb. frame. He had some of the best command of any pitcher at the showcase, and really did a great job of throwing strikes and locating his pitches. Egyed has a short, compact arm circle in back and does a good job of hiding the ball from the hitters. His delivery is balanced and simple and on-line to the plate. Egyed’s fastball was mostly 77-79 mph with good 2-seam run and he topped out at 83 mph. His best pitch was a slider that he varied in velocity between 70 and 75 mph and that had good late, sharp action when he got extended through it out front. There were a lot of weak ground ball type of swings against his slider. Egyed also threw a couple of 74 mph change ups. Egyed’s pitchability and breaking ball will make him effective at the right college program. He hits from an open stance with a wide base. He uses a rock back load and closes well at contact. Egyed has a short and quick line drive swing with good hand strength. He is a solid two way prospect who is also an excellent student.

Vince Egyed is a 6'1" right handed pitcher/first baseman from Burleson, Texas, with a nice projectable body. On the mound, Egyed throws from a simple, balanced leg lift delivery with a short arm circle in back and a standard ¾ release point. He has some drift to his delivery which causes his arm to rush to keep up. Egyed’s fastball was 78-81 mph. His best pitch was a 74 mph change up that he maintained very good arm speed on and located well with late sinking action. His 68-70 mph curveball was loose in his first inning of work, but improved a lot during the second inning and he threw some sharp ones. Overall, Egyed does some things very well on the mound and should improve as he adds even more strength. As a position player, Egyed showed very nice defensive actions at first base and had a number of nice picks. Egyed is a very good student.

Vince Egyed is a 2005 RHP/1B from Burleson, TX. At 6'1" he has a good athletic frame with long legs and some physical projection. He throws from a high ¾ release point off a simple turn and throw delivery that keeps him balanced and on-line to the plate. Egyed’s arm stroke is short and simple as well. His fastball was in the 78-80 mph range in Waco and he was able to spot it around the strike zone. Both his 68 mph curveball and 73 mph change up had good quality to them, but Egyed threw mostly fastballs. We’d bet that he mixes in his other pitches more during a normal high school start. His arm works well and he projects to throw harder and probably already does at times. He should play at a good level of college ball. Vince is a very good student with a 1280 SAT.
