2004 South Undergrad Showcase
Tyler Dumas is 2006 right handed hitting infielder from Tomball, Texas, with a very projectable athletic body that already looks bigger and stronger than his listed size. He played primarily third base in Waco, and showed strong defensive tools. Dumas’ arm strength is better in games than the workout velocity shows, and he has a quick release. His hands and feet work well, too. At the plate, Dumas hits out of a very spread stance, and starts with his bat laying on his shoulder, creating a very long swing for wood. Dumas generated some raw bat speed with some loft and upper cut, but will have to shorten his approach for better pitching.
