James Cardona is a 2013 C/1B with a 6-0 195 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Antonio Lucchetti HS. Strong physical build, especially in the lower half. Accurate arm with quick release, good game throws, throws carry well, receives ball cleanly, will need to work on lower half quickness defensively. Left handed hitter, very strong swing with plus power, aggressive and looking to drive the ball, very hard game and BP contact, not a pretty mechanical swing but has bat speed and squares the ball up, handled velocity well in games. Tools to hit at the next level. Very good student.

Quick arm behind plate, quick transfer, slow feet, accurate throws, doesn't finish throws, blocks well in games, not much lower 1/2 in throwing motion, has arm speed for better throwing velocity with improved mechanics on catch & throw. Stays inside the ball well at the plate, solid bat speed, uppercuts, lacks extension, pullside approach, good eye, quick hands, aggressive swing. Excellent student.
