Travis Bender is a 2007 MIF/P with a 5'11'', 155 lb. frame from Moreno Valley CA, who attends Vista Del Lago HS. Bender is a good baseball player with ability as an offensive player and as a pitcher. He has a lean and strong, compact body and will fill out more. Offensively he has a good hitting approach. He is a contact line drive hitter, with good bat speed. His lower half works well, with a very good weight transfer that creates some power for him. His barrel stays in the zone and he has a flat swing plane. Bender handles velocity well too. He runs the bases well and plays like a gamer. Defensively he is also a good player, making plays on move and taking excellent angles to the baseball, starting with good reads off the bat. Bender has a quick release and a good arm. His hands work well too. On the mound he is very interesting and still developing. He pitches from an over the top slot and has a long, quick, and clean arm action. Bender creates good leverage with that arm action, resulting in surprising velocity that is not topped out yet. His delivery is good and he works pretty easiliy. Bender has an aggressive, closer-type approach and his stuff fits that approach. His fastball topped at 87 and he pitched 84-86, with good hop in the zone. He has a good curveball, with, late action and goof feel for that pitch. His arm action is quite projectable as a pitcher, even if his body is not typically big. He may not have much more height to gain, but size and strength will allow him to keep gaining velocity. Bender is a solid student and well-rounded ballplayer who can and will contribute a lot to a D1 program.

Travis Bender is a 2007 MIF/P with a 5'11'', 155 lb. frame from Moreno Valley CA, who attends Vista Del Lago. Bender has a medium sized frame with a thin lean build. Defensively, Bender has nice hands and moves to the ball well on the infield. He has solid defensive actions and has good balance as he approaches the ball. He has arm strength with some carry on his throws. At the plate, Bender uses a contact hitter's approach and swings on a line drive path. He has a nice swing and has present line drive pop with more power potential in there as he gains body strength. Bender has good bat control and makes consistent solid contact. Good student.

Travis Bender is a 2007 MIF/P with a 5'11'', 155 lb. frame from Moreno Valley CA, who attends Vista Del Lago HS. Named a Top Prospect at this event. Bender has a small, athletic frame, with room for future strength and size. He was 3-7 during the showcase and hit the ball hard in six of those at-bats, including two doubles. Two of his outs were hard liners right at outfielders. Bender has a simple hitting approach. His instincts are natural and his trigger works, with quick hands that work inside the ball. Basically, it is a "see it and put a good swing on it" approach. His hands are quick and he swings aggressively and decisively. His lower half works well and gets him in position to hit the ball to all fields. As he gets more physically developed, there could be something beyond gap power in this future. Defensively Bender displays a strong arm and has decent range. His hands work well and he plays like a gamer, which will play well at 2nd base. Bender is a solid student and looks to be a solid hitting prospect with instincts for the game.

Travis Bender is a 2007 second baseman/right handed pitcher from Moreno Valley, California with a lean, young looking body at 5'7", 135 pounds. He hits from a wide stance with a small stride and high, busy hands. He showed good bat control and the ability to go with the pitch. He has a good opposite field approach with consistent contact. He hit well during the games and uses the whole field. Defensively, he has good hands with smooth actions. He has a compact arm action that showed decent arm strength with accurate throws. He is a very young looking sophomore with lots of room to grow and add strength. He will be a good prospect to follow over the next few years. Travis is a good student.
