Anderson is a Junior with a good baseball body. He shows a strong arm and pitchability on the mound. He is a primary pitcher showing potential Division 1 talent on the hill. But he also displayed hitting ability that we imagine will help his High School team as a middle-of-the-order contributor in a competitive Mt. Zion program. His pitch selection consisted of a fastball that sat in the 83-86 mph range and came out of his hand quickly. His arm is fast and combined with getting good use from his body, it showed potential to maintain velocity into late innings. He registered 86 mph to the last batter he faced. His second pitch was a change-up that showed 74-77 mph velocity and good life. It is an impact pitch and one that we think will draw attention throughout the College recruiting process. His curveball was a bit slower at 66-68 mph but took a nice path and showed a good spin. We saw the makings of what looked to be a splitty but we didn't see that pitch more than a couple times. He did throw slightly across his body with the full wind-up, but from the stretch he showed a straighter stride and little loss of velocity. He comes from a high 3/4 arm slot and showed good leverage with his delivery. His fastball has some good life at times. He has a very good overall pitching package. With the bat he showed an offensive mentality and ability to go with the pitch and control his bat-head well. He struggled to stay inside some tailing fastballs but the ball came off his bat fast. In fact, we registered 90mph off his bat with his first swing!
