Timothy Garza is a 2005 C from Parkland, FL. He is a very good looking young catching prospect with a strong, projectable body and a good balance of skills. He hits out of a wide stance at the plate with a slight leg lift trigger and generates good bat speed. Garza hit the ball hard to all fields during batting practice and in games and showed a patient, polished approach at the plate. We think he’s going to keep improving with the bat as he gets a little stronger and has more repetitions as the basic bat speed and strength is there. Defensively, Garza’s best tools are his quick feet and quick arm. He’s very agile shifting and always seems to be balanced. Garza looks like a good college catching prospect who will keep improving. He's a good student.

Timothy Garza -- Garza is a junior catcher from Florida with some good tools and nice athletic actions for a catcher. He has a strong, well proportioned body. Garza’s best defensive tool is his arm strength. When he’s standing up and balanced, Garza can throw with the best of them. He has some trouble throwing coming out of a crouch, though. We’re guessing that Garza doesn’t have much catching experience based on his overall fundamentals but the tools and athleticism are there for him to improve. As a hitter, Garza makes solid contact with a compact, quick line drive type of stroke. He has the upper body strength to swing the wood back but could really take a step forward if he incorporated his lower body into his swing more. Garza is a very good student as well.

05 catcher with some arm strength. Very good body with room for even more strength. Seems to be off balance as a hitter, but shows hitting ability. A good hitting instructor could be a great investment.
