Timothy Ferguson is a 2007 MIF with a 6'2'', 180 lb. frame from Beaumont, TX, who attends West Brook HS. Timothy has a lean athletic build and has very good overall athleticism. At the plate Timothy seems to do everything well. He has a very smooth swing with great extension and bat speed. He has great balance and leverage in his swing and could hit a lot of homeruns in college. Timothy has good enough speed and power to project at nearly any spot in the batting order. In the field Timothy looks like he will either be a second or third baseman. Timothy has very good hands but is a little slow getting rid of the ball at times. Timothy should have a big college career and make an immediate impact in college.

Timothy Ferguson is a 2007 right hand hitting middle infielder from West Brook HS, residing in Beaumont, TX, with a 6'2" 175 lb. frame that is strong, lean, and athletically proportioned, particularly his legs. Ferguson performed well and was ranked #55 among PG National Top 100 position players. He hits from a slightly open stance and displayed the type of body control and balance that suggest a consistent hitter. He showed above average bat speed and the ability to handle good velocity, due in part to that bat speed and his his on-time approach to the pitch as it enters the hitting zone. Ferguson's swing stays on a line drive plane and at this time looks to be a solid contact type hitter with some power potential, coming from his bat speed, barrel contact, and projectable body type. Defensively he showed good feet and hands and a solid average arm up to 84 mph across the diamond. He is not a flashy, actions type defender, simply a very solid defender. His athleticism showed up a bit more with in his running times, with a 4.45 home/1st time and a 6.83 60. Ferguson is a strong college prospect that will draw some draft attention in the spring time.

Timothy Ferguson is a 6'2" 170 pound 2007 middle infielder from West Brook High School in Beaumont, Texas who was named to the Top Prospect Team. He has a lean frame that is very projectable. Timothy has a nice strong arm which he showed by throwing 81 mph across the infield during the workout. He has solid actions and smooth feet and hands. He has good quickness and controls his body very well while making all the routine plays. He also is a fast runner who ran a 6.88 60 and has good running form. He gets down the line very quickly as well. At the plate, Ferguson has sound fundamentals. He has a quiet approach with a wide stance and good balance. He has very good bat speed and attacks the ball. He has a nice swing plane and gets very good extension. He has big time power projection with more to come. He took an outstanding batting practice which included a few home runs. Timothy is a top level hitting prospect who keeps getting stronger everytime he attends a new event who is also a very good student with a 3.8 gpa.

Ferguson is a 6-0 sophomore infielder from southeast Texas. What a difference a few months make at this age! The last time we saw Ferguson he was 5-8 and now he has legs up to his shoulders. He has plenty of room to fill out his frame and add strength. The biggest difference the added height has made for Ferguson looks to be in his swing. He really swung the bat well at the Showcase, generating improved bat speed and showing very nice extension through the ball. The ball jumped off his bat in BP and Ferguson had a three hit game, including a nice double, against live pitching. There are still some mechanical things Ferguson can do to improve as a hitter but he projects much better now. Defensively, Ferguson is a smooth fielder with strong fundamentals who is dependable on the routine plays. His arm strength is solid and will continue to improve with added strength. Ferguson is a 7.10 runner in the 60. He is a very good student.

Timothy Ferguson is a 2007 middle infielder from Beaumont, Texas, who has not really started to physically mature. He’s very young in the face and body with thin ankles and wrists, and we wouldn’t even want to attempt to predict how big or strong he’ll be in a couple of years. Ferguson’s skill level is very high for his age, especially on defense. His actions are smooth and practiced, and he shows good hands coming through the ball with a quick release from a low arm slot. Ferguson’s arm strength is short for the left side of the field now, but it will get better over the next few years. Offensively, Ferguson hits from a rhythmic hitting approach with a well coordinated load and stride. He generates some bat speed for his age, and has especially good extension out front. Ferguson ran 4.47 to first base and it isn’t hard to see him as a big league average runner when he matures.
