2003 Spring Showcase
Hoy is an interesting Left-hander with an easy arm and more in him. He stands at 6 foot 3 and 220 pounds and showed a 79-82 mph fastball and a 70 mph curveball. He came from a higher than 3/4 arm slot and got a good downward angle on that curve. He does not give excessive amounts of effort in his delivery and semed to get his release point down and his strike-zone tighter as his pitch count went up. He has a strong and good looking build at 220 and even ran a 7.56 in the 60. At the plate he is a stationary hitter that got into a couple balls but we think his best-suited position is without a doubt on the hill. Watch him !
