David Peterson is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-6 215 lb. frame from Denver, CO who attends Regis Jesuit HS. Extra large athletic frame, has some thickness in his hips and lower half. Easy low effort directional delivery, compact arm action with tight mid 3/4's release, lots of deception, hitters don't see the ball, repeats delivery very well. Fastball to 88 mph, very projectable velocity, plus fastball life, heavy run/sink arm side, fastball tends to straighten out against left handed hitters, owns the outside corner vs. RHH'ers. Flashes hard curveball spin, good bite and depth, best curveballs at higher velocities, rare change up. Dominated, 8 K's in 3 IP, very few good swings against. Very athletic first baseman defensively, outstanding hands. Left handed hitter, short swing for his size, handles the barrel well, line drive contact to the gaps. High ceiling talent. Good student.

David Peterson is a 2014 LHP/1B with a 6-6 210 lb. frame from Denver, CO who attends Regis Jesuit HS. Outstanding athletic build; lean loose and very projectable. Easy fast paced delivery, smooth effortless arm action, mid 3/4's release point, tends to pick up plate late with eyes. Consistent upper 80's fastball, topped out at 89 mph, much more in there, has excellent late running life on fastball, will bust RHH'ers inside with live fastball. Good curveball shape and spin with proper velocity, consistent release point, still developing feel for change up. Works extremely quickly and pounds the strike zone, uncomfortable at bats for hitters. Very athletic defensive actions at first base, light on feet and very balanced. Left handed hitter, nice calm swing, uses hands to drive the barrel, squares up the ball, projectable power. Elite level athlete. Good student.
