Grant Horwitz is a 2016 C/1B, 3B with a 6-0 188 lb. frame from Bradenton, FL who attends IMG Academy. Large, athletic frame with good present strength throughout build. Sets up to hit with hands close to body, wide base set, slightly open with toe tap trigger. Shows natural lift in swing with projectable raw power. Short hands through the zone, middle to pull field approach, will cut himself off a bit at times. Strength off barrel is present in swing. Sets up behind the plate with slight side-saddle positioning, receives ball well with soft hands and strong forearm, gains ground well through mechanics, shows solid arm strength on throws down to 2B. Popped as low as 2.03 seconds. Very good student.
