Mason McClellan is a 2014 3B/IF with a 6-3 185 lb. frame from McDonough, GA who attends Union Grove HS. McClellan has a large frame with a projectable build. Defensively, he has good footwork and plays through the ball well. He has nice hands with developing arm strength. At the plate, McClellan starts with a slightly open stance and swings from a slight crouch. He has balance in his swing and gets extension at contact. McClellan has a loose swing with juice and power potential. He is aggressive in the zone and made consistent hard contact. Interesting hitting tools that project. McClellan pitches from a high 3/4 arm slot with a max effort delivery. He maintains balance and gets some down plane on his fastball. Good student, named to Top Prospect Team.
