Joe Hawks is a 2013 RHP with a 6-2 180 lb. frame from Johnston, IA who attends Johnston HS. Large projectable frame lean build. Throws from a 3/4 arm slot on the mound, short arm action in back, throws downhill, takes a short stride, arm works, curveball has short break to it, has good arm strength, throws his curveball at 72mph. At the plate starts slightly open, has a deep load, has a contact approach, short rotational swing, line drive swing plane. Is an interesting prospect to follow and is a good student.
