Nelson Molina is a 2013 SS with a 6-3 170 lb. frame from Arecibo, PR who attends Antonio Lucetti HS. Long and lean athletic build, really projects well. 6.78 runner, very light on his feet defensively, fields the ball very cleanly out front, soft hands, works through the ball well, plenty of arm strength, has all the tools/actions you want to see in a young shortstop. Left handed hitter, smooth easy swing, has some length to it, good balance, line drive plane, handles the barrel well but lacks the present strength to drive it, good fundamental base to build on. Kind of player scouts can dream on, adding strength will be the key to his development. Has steady improved over the past year. Good student.
