WP - Taylor Preston is a 2005 OF/LHP from Bishop Gorman HS in Las Vegas. Taylor has a medium, well proportioned frame with square shoulders and a lively body. Taylor showed good quickness in the OF along with some arm strength. He stands tall in the box with good balance and a sound approach. Taylor used a high hand set with a slight loft to his swing that could be beneficial with added strength. Taylor showed a great understanding of the game and played hard.

Preston is a loose, young left hander with good arm strength. He throws from a low ¾’s to sidearm release point that generates good sink on his 78-81 mph fastball. Preston’s curveball reached as high as 67 mph and he was able to get over it occasionally from his low release point. Preston showed a good ability to mix his pitches and throw consistent strikes low in the zone. He's a good athlete, ran a 7.1 60 and showed a strong accurate arm from the outfield clocked at 87 mph. He also showed hitting ability, but could get more out of the lower body in his LH swing. That 87 from the outfield is very interesting in a projectable "05" LHP. Taylor is a very good student.
