Joe Alexander Jimenez is a 2013 RHP with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Bayamon, PR who attends PRBAHS. Big strong athletic build, power pitcher's look. Sound delivery mechanics, long extended arm action with some hook in back, 3/4's arm slot, works downhill, ball comes out cleanly, some effort on release. Steady low 90's fastball, topped out at 93 mph, maintained velocity well, fastball mostly straight with occasional running action. Introduced new slider since last few events, good pitch with late break and good feel in the strike zone, low 70's curveball is a "get me over pitch" and effective in the right counts. Gets nice movement and sink on change up but can maintain arm speed better. Keeps getting better every time we see him, velocity is up, slider is a promising pitch and beginning to show nice pitchability. Good student, signed with Florida International.

Joe Jimenez is a 2013 RHP with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Bayamon, PR who attends PRBAHS. Big strong mature power pitcher's build, has a physical presence on the mound. Side step/leg raise delivery, loose arm circle, low effort release, extended 3/4's slot, delivery has really been cleaned up well over the past year, solid overall mechanics. Fastball to 90 mph, consistent velocity, mostly straight but with some downhill plane, pitches aggressively with fastball and can spot it. Good feel for a change up with sink, tends to drop slot on curveball and get under it with a hump but throws strikes with the pitch. Making lots of progress, improvement in breaking ball next key step. Good student, signed with Florida International.

Fast paced delivery, short compact arm action, tight 3/4's arm slot, some effort at release, short stride out front that could be lengthened, throws downhill. Primary fastball pitcher, big raw arm strength, fastball topped at 92 mph, good fastball life down in zone. Soft curveball spin, flashes some depth, tends to slow body on curveball, didn't see change up. Inconsistent delivery/command but arm strength unmistakable. Good student.
