Corey Merrill is a 2013 RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Lutcher, LA who attends Lutcher HS. Big, strong pitcher's build with broad shoulders and strength in lower half. Pitches from low 3/4 slot with long arm action. Stays tall on backside with good balance and online delivery. Good finish and extension. Fastball showed arm side run and occasional sink. 11/5 curveball showed sharp late break, knee-buckler at times. Good straight changeup. Does a good job of maintaining arm speed on both off speed pitches. High level present pitchability. Projects for more in future. Good student. Named to Top Prospect Team.
