Tapley is a 5-10 junior infielder from Florida with very good present strength. He ran the 60 in 7.37 and threw 81 mph during infield drills. He ran 4.39 down the line and runs hard on everything. Tapley has good actions and quickness on defense and moves through the ball well while making strong throws. He showed especially good range during the showcase games and made some nice plays. Offensively, Tapley is a very aggressive player with very good hitting potential. He attacks inside pitches with a short, quick swing and hits solid line drives. Tapley took an excellent round of batting practice, then lined 3 doubles and a single in the two showcase games. He was right on every pitch he saw. Tapley’s aggressive approach cost him on the bases and he’ll have to watch this as the game speeds up around him. Overall, Tapley has good tools across the board and you have to like the way he plays the game hard and aggressively. Good follow!
