Cody Rutscher is a 2014 SS/RHP with a 5-11 180 lb. frame from Overland Park, KS who attends Rockhurst HS. Medium, athletic body with some room to grow. Right-handed batter, hits from a very quiet, simple stance, hands are back and ready. Shows very good bat speed, advanced approach at the plate, shows some power potential, stays inside the ball very well, line drive swing path. Also pitches, high upside on the mound. Throws from a high three-quarter arm slot, uses a simple leg raise delivery, shows good rhythm. Pitches at 84-87 mph with his fastball, has a solid feel for his 73 mph crurveball and throws it for strikes. Very good curveball Changes speeds with curveball, flashes a changeup as well. Excellent student.

Good feet on the middle infield, has some feel, hands are very good, soft with quickness. Quick transfer, effort in arm but arm strength in good. Has feel and potential on the infield. Skills project to all three infield spots. Right handed hitter, short, simple stroke. Hands work, has length and extension in swing. Aggressive hitter with feel. More to come as strength is gained. Swing projects well, squared up balls consistently in games. Very good student.

Tall stance, barrels up well, good leverage in swing, strong at contact point. Open stance, line drive plane, deep load, smooth swing. Takes hands to the ball well, quick bat, projects well offensively. Quick arm from shortstop with a quick release, good hands, good feel for short defensively. Up to 79 on the mound, 3/4 slot, loose arm, good arm side run on 2-seamer. Sharp break on curveball, induced a lot of ground balls. Solid young two-way player with upside. Excellent student.
