Steve Bainer is a 2006 right handed pitcher from Holy Cross HS in Prospect, Connecticut, with a strong 6'3"/200 pound frame. On the mound, he throws from a high 3/4 arm slot with clean arm action and minimal effort. He has a balanced and online delivery with leverage. Bainer showed good command of his 78 mph fastball. He gets tumbling action on his 70 mph split finger and it is a strikeout pitch. Steve showed good feet on his pickoff move as well. As a right handed hitter, he hits from a wide base with a no stride approach and makes consistent contact. Bainer is a solid student.
