Robert Malara is a 2012 OF with a 5-9 155 lb. frame from South Salem, NY who attends John Jay. Medium build athlete. Ran well with a 7.06 sixty. Fields well in the outfield with good approach and transfer. Release is clean with long, loose arm action. Velocity was average but projects for more. Left-handed hitter with a simple line-drive approach. Aggressive at the plate with bat speed. Stays inside the ball and takes his hands to the ball easily. Swing projects very well and showed the ability to take the ball the other way on outside pitches. Interesting player to watch. Good student.
