Sean Ochinko is a 2006 catcher/third baseman from Parkland, FL with a thick strong build at 6-0, 200 lbs. He has very good arm strength at 80 mph with a best pop time of 1.90. He's a good receiver who isn't afraid to block the ball and put his body in front if it. Ochinko is an upper body hitter with a rotational swing. He hits with a short stride and early trigger. His strength gives him good bat speed with a line drive swing plane and some pop in his bat on contact. Ochinko has a good, well rounded set of tools and skills. His area with the most upside is his power potential. He's a solid student off the field.

Sean Ochinko -- Ochinko is a sophomore catcher with a strong stocky build and good strength. He throws very very well for a young catcher and his pop times will drop significantly when he learns to trust his outstanding arm strength and not try to rush things too much. We didn’t get to see Ochinko hit nearly as much as we would have liked to because of an injury but it looked like he had good bat speed from a rotational no load, no stride approach. We’re looking forward to seeing him more in the future. We saw enough to know he is a very good prospect. Sean is a good student as well.
