2013 Atlantic Coast Top Prospect Showcase
Max Bazin is a 2015 C/RHP, UT with a 6-0 165 lb. frame from Charlotte, NC who attends South Mecklenburg. Large frame with a lean, athletic build and room to fill out with strength. Very good athlete, running a 6.76 60 yard dash. Primary catcher, moves feet well behind plate with sound defensive actions. Gains ground towards second with foot work and stays low throughout. Quick transfer with good arm strength and accuracy to second base. Shows quick actions and big arm strength from the outfield, works through the ball well. On the mound throws from a three quarter arm slot with a long arm action in back and a balance, online delivery. Throws both a 2 and 4 seam fastball with the 2 seam showing very hard arm side run. Topped at 84 mph. Has a sharp 11/5 curveball, along with a tight slider at 72 mph and a good feel for a fading change up. Right handed batter with a low hand set and line drive contact to middle of field and pull side with consistent bat path. Interesting 2-way to watch. Named to Top Prospect List. Excellent student.
