Zack Horwitz is a 2016 LHP/1B, OF with a 5-10 185 lb. frame from Chestnut Hill, MA who attends Buckingham Browne Nichols. Large, athletic frame with a strong build and broad shoulders. Ran a 5.29 40 yard dash. Left handed pitcher, works from a full, fast paced delivery, and releases from a three-quarter arm slot. Drop and drive delivery, able to create god angle on pitches from first base side, uses strong lower half to drive towards plate. Fastball topped at 80 mph with occasional cutting action, controls both sides of the plate well. Good feel for curveball, 1-7 shape with tight and late break. Attacks hitters with all three pitches, filling up the zone. Left handed batter, shows the ability to use the whole field with strength, has some bat speed in swing. Very good student.
