Brody Weiss is a 2013 SS with a 6-1 185 lb. frame from Castle Rock, CO who attends Regis Jesuit HS. Solid athletic build, has added lots of strength in the past six months. Right handed hitter, leg raise trigger, gets his foot down very well, simple swing mechanics with a very direct swing path, consistent hard pull contact, very good bat speed, really looked good at the plate, strength has translated directly to bat speed. 6.81 runner, uses speed well on the bases with a long and easy stride. Sound footwork defensively, works through the ball well, playable arm strength, tends to bend at waist instead of knees to field, has the athleticism to play any number of positions in the future. Son of Rockies manager Walt Weiss. Good student, signed with UC Santa Barbara.

Right handed hitter, good hitting fundamentals, low hand load, line drive swing plane, has the strength and bat speed to drive the alleys, very good game swings, squares up consistently. Projectable player who should continue to improve with additional strength, knows how to play the game. Son of former ML shortstop Walt Weiss. Good student.
