Colin O'Brien is a 2013 RHP/1B with a 6-3 220 lb. frame from Suffolk, VA who attends Nansemond River. Big strong build. Pitches from a three quarter arm slot, long arm action. Cutting action on fastball, low leg kick, rushes through delivery, manages to throw strikes anyway but will command pitches better with improved balance and throw harder by gathering at balance point. Good sink on changeup with deceptive arm speed, though velocity differential from fastball allows hitters to foul it off at times when they're fooled by the deception, early count pitch at present, 11-5 break on curveball. Big load at the plate, strong swing, uses all fields. Good defensive actions at 1B, big target for infielders.
