Matt Frey is a 2016 3B/OF, 2B with a 6-0 190 lb. frame from Murrysville, PA who attends Franklin Regional HS. Large, athletic frame with a broad shoulder build, present strength throughout and plays in actions. Ran a 7.10 60-yard dash. Primary third baseman, fields the ball out front, short arm action in the back, shows smoothness with arm strength across, longer release, repeats actions well and strength projects with continued incorporation of lower half. Left-handed hitter, starts with a slightly open stance and a high hand set and back elbow. Simple swing with lift at contact, hands start in good position and stays short to the ball. Whips the barrel through the zone, sound approach and balanced through swing. Loose swing, shows nice extension with strength and jump off the barrel when squared. Excellent student.
