Ben Graeff is a 2006 SS/2B from Crystal Lake, Illinois, with a medium build at 5'10", 150 pounds. He hits from a slightly closed stance, with good balance throughout his swing. He has a very smooth weight transfer, and an attack approach which creates a lot of bat speed. He made solid contact with line drives to all fields, and showed big power to the pull side. Defensively, he has a great glove, with a quick and smooth transfer, and a good arm action. He has excellent range and arm strength (77mph) to go along with a good feel for the middle infield positions. He has good speed for his age with a 7.18 in the 60, and a 4.40 home to first. Ben knows how the game is played and will develop into a top prospect.

Benjamin Graeff -- Graeff is a sophomore infielder from Illinois with a wiry, projectable body. He has nice defensive actions with both his hands and feet and some bounce to his step. His arm strength profiles him to second base but he has the chance to improve in that area. Graeff hits out of a tall stance with a short stride and collapses his back side some. He does have some strength in his hands and generates good bat speed for his size and age. Graeff battles well at the plate now and will improve as he becomes stronger. He is a very good student.
