Corey Kafka is a 2012 RHP/3B with a 6-1 210 lb. frame from Tunnel Hill, GA who attends Ringgold HS. Big physical build, very strong look. Cross body multi-piece delivery, some effort but very deceptive, low 3/4's slot, arm works well out front. Fastball to 88 mph, have seen up to 92 mph this summer, good running and sinking life at times. Curveball has hard spin, short sweeping break, change up gets nice late sink, quality pitch he should throw more. Three quality pitches, still fine tuning command and ability to repeat deceptive delivery. Right handed hitter, upright stance, swings hard, upper cut swing plane, can run into a few pitches and drive them with strength. Solid third base tools on defense, good footwork, soft hands, arm strength is there. Good student, verbal commitment to Mercer.
