Pate Betts is a 2014 RHP/OF with a 6-5 180 lb. frame from Adel, GA who attends Cook HS. Tall, strong, highly projectable build, going to get much stronger. Good athlete. Easy delivery, clean, fluid arm action, needs to finish better, misses up, tends to push his pitches. 75-79 mph with his fastball, low effort velocity, much more on the way. 12-6 curveball at 65 mph, needs to stay on top, changeup flashed potential at 73 mph, good fading action. Needs to be followed, velocity could spike. Also an outfielder, long arm action, solid footwork, showed some carry on throws. Short right-handed swing, some extension, good bat speed. Good student.
