Brian Schmiedt is a 2012 RHP/C with a 6-0 158 lb. frame from Waukee, IA who attends Waukee HS. Medium athletic build, room to get stronger. Slow paced simple leg raise delivery, high 3/4's release, loose easy arm, very good downhill angle. Mid 80's fastball, best velocity at a bit lower release point, curveball flashes good spin, 11/5 shape, developing change up, throws strikes, primary fastball pitcher. Shows arm strength defensively at catcher/outfield, long actions, 7.11 runner. Tall rotational swing, no stride, opposite field contact, swings down to the ball. Should continue to improve.

Brian Schmiedt is a 2012 RHP/C with a 6-0 158 lb. frame from Waukee, IA who attends Waukee HS. Schmiedt has a slender build. Simple and balanced delivery, high 3/4 release, can use lower half more, compact arm in back, arm works well, ball comes out easy, snapped off some good curveballs in the low 70's. Also hit, slightly closed stance at the plate, short rotational swing, quiet setup, line drive swing, centers ball well, mid-field approach, solid hitter. He is a solid student.
