Hunter Simmons is a 2013 OF/1B with a 6-3 195 lb. frame from Mountain View, CA who attends St Francis HS. Loose and long athletic build, lots of strength projection. 7.37 runner, sound outfield fundamentals, good footwork and easy hands at the ball, accurate throws with some carry, shows athleticism at first base as well defensively. Has played third base and catcher in the past. Right handed hitter, tall stance with very good balance, big wrap to start swing with double tap load, long swing with high finish, lots going on but creates serious bat speed, swings hard, ball comes off the barrel hard, power approach, will need to simplify approach and improve timing but there are no issues with bat speed/strength, could really blossom as a hitter with adjustments.
