Ryan Scheidt is a 2005 left handed pitcher/outfielder from Shorewood, Illinois, with a solid 6'1", 190 lb. frame. In the outfield he showed some arm strength with good carry. His defensive tools are playable, and he might also be able to play first base. He hits from an upright stance with nice bat speed. Scheidt is a pull hitter with a top hand dominant swing. He does show some power potential to the pull side. He has pitched at other events with a fastball in the low 80's. He is a good lefty for the college level. Ryan is a good student.

Scheidt is a strong bodied left hander who is young for his class. He has plenty of natural arm strength and pitched consistently for us in the 80-82 mph range with his fastball. Scheidt’s curveball has good velocity at 73 mph and will occasionally show good spin and some biting action. He could take a big leap forward with his velocity and command if he worked on extending his arm and body out towards the plate instead of spinning off and cutting off his arm extension. There is plenty more velocity in Scheidt’s arm with some mechanical adjustments. He's a good athlete and ran a 7 flat 60. At 6'1/175 he has room for strength gain and needs to be followed as a LHP. Ryan is a good student.

Scheidt is a very good looking left-handed pitcher with outfield and hitting ability for the next level. He showed a fluid, quick-working, high three quarter arm action on the hill that produced 78-81 mph fastballs and a real good sharp 74 mph curveball. Possibly even more impressive than his pitching ability was his bat. In an event loaded with powerful wood bat hitters, Scheidt showed some of the best power potential. He generated outstanding bat-speed and projects to get even stronger. He drove many balls deep with back spin that kept on carrying to the wall. It is a special bat and he could potentially end up being a 2-way player in a good College program. He was selected to the Top Prospect team as both a pitcher and outfielder. The bat with his running ability and arm, give him outstanding potential as an outfielder. Ryan is a very good student.
