Jake Matthys is a 2012 RHP/MIF with a 6-0 175 lb. frame from Spring Lake Park, MN who attends Spring Lake Park HS. Medium athletic build, some present strength. Rotational leg raise delivery, quick compact arm action with tight 3/4's release, will occasionally drop lower on his fastball. Steady mid 80's fastball, excellent sinking movement at times, especially when down, have seen up to 89 mph in the past. Same type of hard sink on change up. Big breaking slider with good depth and some tightness. Three good pitches with life, can be very effective when working down in the zone. Signed with Kansas State.
