Ryan Shears is a 2012 1B/OF, RHP, C with a 6-2 190 lb. frame from London, KY who attends North Laurel. Long athletic build, lean strength. Busy load, low hand set, some strength at contact. Has increased strength since we last saw him, beginning to show some power. Loads with hips, short swing, muscles up, hit a Home Run off of live pitching. Plays all over the diamond, best position is 1B, showed good hands and actions there. Showed improved command on the mound but have seen him pitch better. Good student.

Showed a good arm in the field. On the mound he showed solid feel for his 11-5 Curveball with late break, can improve significantly with mechanical tweaks. Good student.
