Shane Sawyer is a 2011 3B/RHP with a 5-9 160 lb. frame from Midland, TX who attends Midland HS. Smaller compact build, some present strength. Wide base hitting, has raw bat speed, quick hands to the ball, occasional lift in swing, mostly hard line drive contact to all fields. 7.20 runner, quick feet defensively, solid actions, throws carry well, quick release, looks like he has the tools to play second base as well. Also pitched, basic delivery, tight 3/4's release point, low 80's fastball to 82 mph, hard spin on curveball, threw strikes. Solid all around player with an idea how to play. Very good student.
