Adrian Powell Jr. is a 2013 RHP/3B with a 5-10 220 lb. frame from Ashburn, VA who attends Broad Run HS. Very strong, compact build, especially in the lower half, mature look. Side step delivery, full arm circle, arm works well, high 3/4's to over the top slot, some effort and will fall off occasionally on release. Low 80's fastball, topped out at 84 mph, have consistently seen in the 86-88 mph top end area in the past, fastball mostly straight with some downhill angle. Short curveball depth with 12/6 downer shape, resembles a soft slider, rare change up but flashed good arm speed and life when thrown. Right handed hitter, has obvious strength, limited weight shift, quick hands and good bat speed, stays balanced well, swings hard and is aggressive, shows power, ball jumps when centered, will pull off and overswing at times. Good student.

High 3/4 arm slot on the mound, good arm speed, works quick, tight 12-6 curveball with good depth, bottom falls out of changeup, fills up the strike zone, efficient with pitches, good upside on the mound. Squares the ball up well at the plate, good strength in swing, ball comes off the bat well, consistent hard contact. Solid student.
