Edwin Gabriel Rios is a 2012 OF/IF with a 6-3 190 lb. frame from Kissimmee, FL who attends Osceola HS. Impressive physical build, has really added strength over the past year. 6.94 runner, plays both corner outfield and third base, projects best at third base. Lots of arm strength, plus carry, long easy arm action, quick transfer and release, can throw from different arm angles. Very accurate throws and fundamentally solid from the outfield. Left handed hitter, open stance, short quick swing, keeps hands tight, smooth swing, stays quiet and relaxed, line drive plane, swing lacks ideal explosion for power but that can develop, has the base and strength to work from. Type of prospect who could really come on. Good student. Signed with Florida International.

Edwin Gabriel Rios is a 2012 OF/IF with a 6-4 180 lb. frame from Kissimmee, FL who attends Osceola HS. Long lean build, young look, projects very, very well. Tall stance, good balance, sound hitting mechanics, quick hands, gets the barrel to the ball, line drive plane, lacks present strength but flashes gap power, all the ingredients to hit with more strength. Grades out better as a third baseman than outfielder, very soft hands at the ball, glides well to the ball with good balance and lateral quickness, throws carry, arm strength projectable. Does not have outfield throwing mechanics, 7.0 speed limits to left field. Patience needed but could become a special player with the bat, really projects. Good student, verbal commitment to Florida International.
