John Booker is a 2013 SS/3B, OF, RHP with a 6-3 200 lb. frame from Chesterfield, VA who attends Home School. Tall, big frame, athletic build. Solid two-way prospect, stood out most in OF and on mound, though also good infielder. Threw 87 mph in OF workout, projectable arm, easy arm action, made good plays at SS in game action, fields ball out out front, carry on throws. Attacks the baseball, good weight transfer, whips barrel through, hunts fastballs, ball comes off barrel well, line drive plane, solid bat speed, quick hands. Pitches from a high three quarters arm slot, short arm action, heavy fastball with tailing action. 11-5 break on curveball, good straight changeup, late hand separation, loose arm, around the zone with all three pitches, can improve with tweaks to mechanics. Very good student.
