Red Dowdell is a 2012 C/3B with a 6-1 205 lb. frame from Arlington, VA who attends Yorktown HS. Strong, compact build. Very solid defensive catcher. Quick feet, gains ground well, strong lower half with good transfer. Clean release with good arm strength, online with throws. Left-handed hitter with spread stance at plate. Has strength, goes to left-center field very well. Also showed ability to square the ball up to the pull side. Raw strength in bat. Hit well during games. Excellent student.
